Leadwing Coachman

Hook: Mustad 3399 size 8

Thread: Black

Tag: Fine flat gold Mylar tinsel

Body: Peacock herl

Hackle: Brown hen or schlappen

Wing: Slate grey from duck primary flight feather

March Brown

Hook: Mustad 94840 size 8

Thread: Tan

Tag: Fine flat gold Mylar tinsel

Tail: Wood duck or mallard flank fibres

Body: Natural hare dubbing

Rib: Fine flat gold Mylar tinsel

Wing: Mottled turkey or peacock primary flight feather

Collar: Natural hare dubbing

Hackle: Hungarian partridge

A note about threads: Please bring fly tying thread that lies flat on the hook, for example Danville 6/0, Ultra Thread (UTC) 70 Denier, or Gudebrod 6/0. UNI Cord GSP is a low-bulk thread and a good choice from that perspective, but the selection of colours is limited. It’s also more expensive.
