Fly Tying with Chris Day

Nymphs On A Shoestring

Chris Day will be demonstrating a variety of nymph patterns. Here’s the list of materials:

Hare's Ear Nymph
Hook: Mustad 3906B or equivalent. Size 8 -18.

Thread: Tan or Brown 6/0 or 8/0 UNI.

Tail: Speckled Brown Hen Hackle

Rib: Fine Copper Wire

Dubbing: Hare's Mask

Wing Case / Legs: Speckled Brown Hen Hackle

Pheasant Tail Nymph (Sawyer's)
Hook: Mustad 3906 or equivalent. Size 10 -18.

Thread: Brown 6/0 or 8/0 UNI.

Tail / Body / Wingcase: Ring Neck Pheasant Tail Fibres

Rib / Thorax: Fine Copper Wire

Pheasant Tail Nymph (Cove's)
Hook: Mustad 3906 or equivalent. Size 10 - 18.

Thread: Brown 6/0 or 8/0 UNI.

Body / Wingcase: Ring Neck Pheasant Tail Fibres

Rib: Fine Copper Wire

Thorax: Hare's mask.

The materials are pretty standard and shouldn't present a problem. Hen hackle will be available if anyone needs to share.
